Buy 2,500 Fortnite (+300 Bonus!) V-Bucks, the in-game currency that can be spent in Fortnite Battle Royale, Creative, and Save the World modes. In Battle Royale and Creative you can use V-Bucks to purchase new customization items like Outfits, Gliders, Pickaxes, Emotes, and the latest season's Battle. At one time, Fortnite was only Save the World, a paid player-versus-environment (PvE) campaign. With the introduction of the free player-versus-player (PvP) Battle Royale mode and its massive success, Save the World took a back seat. That doesn't mean Save the World is a bad game, however. Quite the contrary. Fortnite: Save the World is Fortnite's paid co-op PvE game. This mode is the original Fortnite, where it all began; in fact, the massively successful Battle Royale mode wouldn't exist without it. Save the World was originally released on 25 th July 2017, and has been in development for the last three years. The crossover is actually part of the Fortnite‘s Save the World PvE mode, not Battle Royale. By completing quests in Save the World, you can unlock various Fortnite characters in Battle Breakers. Save the World will also 'no longer be able to support all upcoming Fortnite Battle Royale cosmetic purchases, but your existing library of cosmetics will continue to function in both modes.'.

Fortnite in general

Fortnite Battle Royale is a player-versus-player Battle Royale game for up to 100 players, allowing one to play alone, in a duo, or in a squad (usually consisting of three or four players). Battle Royale features in-app purchases for cosmetic items. These items offer no in game advantages.

How to play

Main article: Guide:Battle Royale Basics

There are multiple ways to play Battle Royale. Typically the modes are Solo, Duos, Squads, Team Rumble, Battle Lab and Creative, in addition to one or more Limited Time Modes. There is also Arena Solo and Trios for people who want to play competitively. Players leap out of the Battle Bus as it travels across the map at a random trajectory and choose a place to land. Players try to stay in the safe zone to avoid an ever-encroaching storm that encircles the map, doing damage to players when it touches them. The last player or group standing is awarded a Victory Royale.

For a beginner's walkthrough of Battle Royale from start to finish, see Battle Royale Basics.

Battle Royale Weapons

Main article: Battle Royale Weapons

When starting out, all players spawn with a Harvesting Tool. In a pinch the Harvesting Tool can be used in combat, but its short range and low damage (only 20 per hit) make it ineffective for most encounters with other players. It is best suited for breaking objects to obtain Materials. In order to obtain other weapons that are better suited towards combat, players must find them in Chests, Supply Drops, on the ground in the world, or by eliminating other players. There is more than one type of weapon, each having different ranges, damage, and rarities.

Battle Royale shares some weapon types with Save the World, though some Battle Royale versions look different and have different stats from their Save the World counterparts.

Patch 11.0 Loot Pool

Items

Along with Weapons, there are many items to pick up and use in Battle Royale. Some of these provide health regeneration or bonus shields, while others perform a variety of functions related to building. Some Vehicles are also in the game. For more information about the items in Battle Royale, see Battle Royale Items.

Building

Main article: Building

Building is a core mechanic of Battle Royale and functions in the same manner as building in Save the World. Knowing how, when, and where to build are vital when competing for a Victory Royale. Unlike Save the World, structures cannot be upgraded using materials. For tips and strategies about building, see Battle Royale Guides.

Battle Pass

Gameplay in Battle Royale is marked by seasons. At the beginning of each season, players are given a blank slate and the possibility of earning in-game cosmetic items for achieving certain goals and gaining experience. This functionality is extended through the purchase of a Battle Pass, which offers a much greater pool of goals and cosmetic rewards. Weekly challenges provide a welcome twist to gameplay as players can earn experience for levels. For more information about this feature, see Battle Pass.

Limited Time Modes

Main article: Battle Royale Limited Time Modes

Limited Time Modes, also shortened as LTMs, are events in Battle Royale featuring modifications to the rules set and mechanics, such as a limited loot pool or even 50 vs. 50 combat. LTMs usually last about a week and are available as an option in the Queue menu in the Lobby when featured.

Fortnite Battle Royale Games

Our take

Without a doubt, Fortnite Battle Royale is one of the most enjoyable shooter games. Since it's available on multiple operating systems, you can play it on a wide range of devices. For Windows PCs, it has already built a strong reputation but has been given a bad name for addiction issues, weapons, and gun violence. It's worth mentioning that Fortnite Battle Royale is addictive at every step of the game, and the excellent graphics keep luring you in for more. While this might be a problem for some users, you can't really blame a game for being too good.

Should you download it?

Fortnite Battle Royale Website

Yes, definitely! While Fortnite Battle Royale represents different forms of violence, it has received a PEGI rating of 12, which needs to be considered before downloading the game. In order to start playing this game, you need to use your own judgment regarding safety concerns. Fortnite Battle Royale is a fun, interesting, and action-packed adventure with huge maps meant to keep you engaged for extended hours.
